ConnectPro Agent is a simple tool for remote help. When installed and connected to ConnectPro server, makes user technical support easy thanks to its features:
- chat (users can report issues and communicate with administrators),
- remote access,
- collecting by Agent data from the device (permanent connection with server guarantees that e.g. system data or data about installed software will always be up to date),
- performing actions on devices (details available here).
ConnectPro is based on proper network configuration and Agents installed on every computer. To make sure everything works properly, please follow the instructions below (those instructions are also available in Download Agent tab):
- The Agent connects to the server via TCP port 24436, so make sure the port is not blocked either by intermediary network devices (e.g., firewalls, routers), or by the software firewall (on both the machine where the ConnectPro server is installed and every computer where the Agent will run).
- On your organization’s edge router, forward TCP port 24436 to the computer running the ConnectPro server. You may skip this step if you are installing ConnectPro Agents only on computers that will always remain within the local network.
- Generate the Agent installation file (MSI) using the public IP address of your organization’s edge router. You can check your public IP address here: https://www.whatsmyip.org/ . If you are using Agents only within the local network, you may generate the Agent file using the local IP address of the computer running the ConnectPro server. However, keep in mind that in this case, the Agent will not function if the computer is connected outside the company network.
Uninstalling the Agent requires administrative privileges.
