In Axence nVision, we have access to an advanced reporting system. We can use a range of built-in reports, modify them, and also create custom ones from scratch, tailored to the needs of the organization.
The Reports module can be found in two places:
-
In the nVision console menu:
-
In the HelpDesk browser menu:
The Reports module is organized into spaces. Each space contains folders, and each folder holds reports. Every report is stored in a folder, and every folder belongs to a space.
Spaces:
Spaces organize the Reports module by providing a clear visual layout and a functional structure for managing folders and reports.
Reports within the same space are visually grouped and share the same user access settings.
The modules - and the reports they include - depend on your license. With the most basic license, you’ll have access to reports from these modules:
Network,
Device Monitoring,
Alerts,
Other.
The complete edition of nVision includes nine spaces in total, with these additional ones:
DataGuard,
HelpDesk,
Inventory,
User Monitoring,
SmartTime.
Only Administrators can create spaces. When creating a space, the Administrator chooses its visibility: limited to administrators, shared with administrators and selected user groups, or open to everyone.
Administrators can change the space name and access settings - clicking the appropriate icon opens the edit form.
Within a space, you can create folders.
A folder can contain one subfolder, but only one - additional nesting levels are not supported.
Within this prepared structure, you can add reports created with the report wizard or organize existing reports by moving them into folders.
Reports:
When you install nVision, you’ll have access to a set of built-in reports covering different aspects of the application and its users. These reports give you insights into key statistics such as ticket activity, SLA metrics, hardware and software details, resources, users, and network performance.
If the default reports don’t meet your needs, you can create custom reports using the report wizard.
Details on creating reports can be found in a separate section.
Report visibility for individual users depends on the visibility settings of the space to which the report belongs. By default, built-in reports are visible only to administrators.
Language Versions:
The names of built-in reports, folders, and spaces are written to the database during installation, in the language selected at that time. More about language versions you can read in this article.
