User Monitoring Reports

Reports in this module provide insight into how users interact with applications. They help answer questions such as:

• How much time do users spend in specific applications?

• Which applications are used most frequently?

• What data is collected for individual users?

• What data is collected for individual users?

• What does network usage look like?

Applications

These reports primarily show application usage by users. They provide information on the time each user (or user group, depending on the report) spends in individual applications, either broken down by days or summarized.

Common report parameters include:

• activity date (range from – to),

• user group (multiple selection),

• user (multiple selection),

• application group (multiple selection).

Some reports also allow you to specify particular applications or limit results to those requiring elevated permissions.

Depending on the report’s level of detail, you can see:

• which applications a user accessed and for how long,

• the application group,

• whether using the application is flagged as suspicious based on system settings.

Working Time

These reports analyze user activity in terms of time, regardless of specific applications or groups.

Shared parameters include:

• activity date (range from – to),

• user group (multiple selection),

• user (multiple selection).

One report (Working Time Details) adds an option to filter by user status (active, inactive, not logged in).

Other reports show working time trends, broken down by days and statuses, or summarized in tables by time units or percentages.

Configuration

This section includes reports on managing user access to applications. You can select user groups or individual users.

The most detailed report covers configuration settings, providing for each user:

• monitored values,

• remote access settings,

• display settings related to the installed agent.

Other reports show which websites, file types, and applications are blocked or allowed.

Websites

These reports display websites visited by users. You can choose between:

• A list of visited sites

• A summary of total time and number of visits per domain

Parameters include user (or user group), URL address, and time frames.

Time filters:

• Anytime – all visits within the selected dates (and days of the week, if specified)

• Between – adds fields for start and end hours; includes visits within the specified hours

• Except – adds fields for start and end hours; includes visits outside the specified hours

URL filters (Search URL):

• All – no restrictions

• Selected – enter a URL or fragment; includes matching results

• Except – enter a URL or fragment; excludes matching results

You can add multiple URL fields. Use % as a wildcard:

• %page% → matches any value containing “page”

• %page → matches values ending with “page”

• page% → matches values starting with “page”

Link Usage

These reports cover network traffic by protocols and protocol groups.

Definitions:

• Protocols – defined in nVision under Options → User Activity → Protocol Patterns

• Protocol groups – defined in nVision under Options → User Activity → Applications

Report parameters include:

• reading date,

• map, device type, and device,

• user and user group,

• protocol group (and optionally protocol).

Generated reports show incoming and outgoing traffic intensity for both Internet and LAN.
